Porsche Crest Anybody have the non stainless Dansk 1 in 1 out 70mm "Sport" Muffler

This is the one for $350, aluminized steel 70mm tip, not the $600+ stainless one with the 84mm tip.

If you have one, how do you like the sound?
Any power improvements?

thanks
alf

Garage
Al, your best bet would be to go to SSI's and do a two in two out or like I did two in one out.

I too would like to know who has the Dansk 1 in/1 out "Original Style Sport Performance Exhaust" w/ the 70mm tips, NOT the SS vers w/ 84mm tip. The price diff. is about $315 for the Aluminized Steel 70mm vs. $550 for the SS 84mm. I doubt anyone is going to see the body of my muffler and would rather put the $200 towards a new seat.

I'm getting the Dansk Euro Pre-Muff. (thanks again, Dave) and want a slightly louder than stock sound but don't want the "Harley straight-pipe" obnoxious sound.

Anybody??

Thanks,
Bill W.

I'll join in here too. I was also curious about this muffler. Hopefully someone has one.

I have the Dansk non-stainless steel sport muffler on my 84. I wanted a bit more "growl," but wanted to retain as much originality as possible. The installation was a snap, as it fit exactly the same as the stock muffler. I really haven't noticed any power improvements, but I do like the sound. It seems to get better over time. The only complaint I have is that the tip has taken on a bit of a gold tone. I haven't tried polishing it out, yet, so that may be a "non-issue." All things considered, I'm very happy with mine.

Was it noticeably louder than the stock muffler?

I too am looking for something louder but not obxious.

Does it resonating at certain RPMs? (Loud droan?)

Many thanks.

Hmmm...

It sounds like there are at least 4-5 guys that are interested in the Dansk non-SS sport muffler. Think there's a possibility for a group buy that would keep the $$ down?? (sorta like the pre-muffler group buy)

I'm already in on the Euro pre-muffler group buy. Pelican doesn't carry this muffler either. I'm hoping to only tear the exhaust system apart once so I would like to get the sport muffler by the end of April as I'll be in Great Britain for 10 days, leaving next week.

Pelican doesn't sell it, so I bought mine at Performance Products during one of their 20% off sales. As I recall, it was less than $300.

It's a bit louder, but definitely not obnoxious. I didn't want obnoxius (my neighbors like me, and I wanted to keep it that way), and that's one of the reasons I didn't go with the Bursch or Flowmaster, for example. No resonation or drone. I'm really happy with it.

Thanks Scott, that's what I wanted to hear (pun intended). By the way, are you also running the Euro Pre-Muffler, Cat Bypass (straight pipe) or the stock Cat?

When I'm in Britain next weekend I'll be near EuroCarParts Manchester store and will try to stop in and see what kind of deal I can get on a muffler w/ shipping.

I'll post the info when I get back though if someone wants prompt detail they can email EuroCarParts directly, I'm sure.

Thanks again,
Bill W.

That "goldish" tone is common for stainless pipes when they get hot. You can get it back to original color by using a fine abrasive, but it will return soon after. That is why other manufacturers like the Borla I had on, had a second outer pipe with some spacing inbetween to slow this down. It stilled turned yellow, but just took a little longer.

Elephant Racing..........

I believe I saw that Chuck Moreland carries the aluminized, painted, single-out muffler. I want to say I saw it in his pdf catalog. Page doesn't want to load right now............

Dansk dual outs

Won't those dual outs listed on Elephant Racing work with 74s and later cars as well? They're listed up to '73, but I thought they'd work on later cars with heat exchangers or SSIs.
