Advice needed / storage to start up

Hi all, my 1974 911with CIS has been in storage for about 7 months . The battery was on a tender and I know it will start . I just don't want to damage anything by just starting it up after sitting up. Any advice on the matter ? Thank you

7 months is a long time for me. But. Don’t over think it. It’s an engine.

Make sure there is fresh gas, unless you used a stabilizer with a full tank prior to storage.

Then, make sure you have good oil pressure and some oil moved around before it fires up. I would tend to give it a few cranks with the the ignition coil disabled. This would circulatate the oil to some likely unoiled areas.

Perhaps overkill: remove the plugs, spray some penetrating oil into the cylinders. Do a few hand cranks to get the juices moving.

Check the fuel / electrical lines for chew marks (mice love those engines near me) / degradation, belts, hoses etc...

Make sure the brakes / fluid are operational before you set out!

Check you lug nuts, tire pressure and condition, lights, common safety items.

Make sure no rat / mice nests are in the common areas and can catch on fire.

Maybe crank it with the ignition disabled, per the above suggestion, but I don't think you really need to do any more than that and check for critters if they are a problem in your garage. Just fire it up and go. Seven months isn't a long time for me; I had a car sitting for eight years and it didn't need more than fresh gas in it.

Make sure you inspect those fuel lines regardless of the amount of time in storage. My '75 built in '74 had some serious potentially fatal flaws what I have discovered after pulling it all out.

Hop in the car and start it. It will be fine. I store all my cars for 7 months over the winter and they all start on about a half of a crank. If your going to store it for long periods I fill the tank add 55 lbs of pressure to the tires and pull the battery put it on a tender.
