Where to get my 69 Calipers Rebuilt

....Brake Calipers...

My 69T had been sitting for 29 years.
Calipers totally frozen .

I would like to send them out for exchange / rebuilding.

I have heard PMB does good work...

Recommendations.??

Thanks,l

Hands down to me, PMB is the only place you want to send your calipers.

Perhaps there are other shops out there, but don't let them short cut any steps along the way.
Re-plating the caliper halves is one of the steps sometimes left out of the equation.

Ask PMB is they've gotten their plating sorted out. I've had one set done that I'll just redo and gotten two customer's sets in to redo purely because the plating is so-so.

New from PMB installed but never used.

A set I did a year ago. Made them bright as they'll dull down with heat.

PMB,
Send the entire dirty stuck caliper minus all the brake fluid that you are able to remove, double box them, and they will return them to you in new condition!!
Very happy,

PMB has done many sets for me. Won’t use anyone else.

what is the intent? is it a restoration, or just looking to get it road worthy? if it's the latter and you've pulled them off as long as they are not rusted a ton most shops should be able to rebuild them even if you need new pucks.

if they are not rusted a ton maybe the master cylinder sitting, now ineffective could be giving you the impression the calipers are not completely locked up. if removed & you've applied a compressor to them and the pistons won't budge start soaking the piston/caliper interface & they might pop right out.

if you can remove a caliper you can rebuild one!

Shaun,

Love the the look of yours. We have had a couple of PMB issues as well. Incorrect fasteners on a 930 set that a client sent down on our recommendation. We sent a set of lotus elan calipers and MC down after months they came back with calipers done and mc not touched, but rebuild kit in a bag... Not the end of the world stuff, but not 100% what we were hoping for. Likely we will just handle in house or send to you as we can't suffer the delays and not get perfect as advertised parts back...

Cheers

PMB did mine and calipers came back beautiful. No issues with plating. (This was a few years ago.)

PMB did good work on my calipers about 4 years ago and they still look great.

Eric Shea at PMB did a great job on my rear calipers for my build.

I had my parts plated locally and did the assembly myself. It was pretty time consuming and not much cheaper than PMB, so I would probably hire it out if i were doing another set.

I just shipped these today for a 69E. Shot the pistons with 2000F Cerakote and polished them up a little.
