Rear camber adjust 1976 chassis

On a 76 911, which bolt adjusts the camber.
If I want the tire to lean in 1/2 degree, how much do I turn the adjusting nut, 1/4 turn?
and toward the front of the car or the back of the car?

The rear one is camber, the front one is toe.

You have to loosen both plus the two that are kind of hidden by the brake caliper to adjust. The adjuster bolts are cams that have to be turned from behind.

For toe, the adjuster slides the trailing arm fore or aft relative to the spring plate.

For camber, the adjuster moves the trailing arm up or down relative to the spring plate. This "twists" them relative to each other. Moving the trailing arm "up" is more camber.

As far as which direction to turn the adjuster, the answer is it depends which way the cam is facing. It'll hit the same camber setting in two physical positions. As far as how much = 0.5°, that also depends. You have to measure. A free phone protractor app and a pen and paper is your friend. Note your garage may not be level and the car may not be jacked up straight, so measure the initial and final and get the delta.

Also measure the whole thing including camber and toe when you bolt it back together, as it's easy to get crosstalk in the adjustments. Total PITA to do, I usually need at least 3 trial and error sessions before I am close enough that I give up.

When DIY rear alignment.

Car must be resting on tires on a PERFECTLY flat surface.

Any play in your bushings or bearings and you are wasting your time.

You need to make sure both rear wheels are aligned the same compared to the C/L of the car. Search "strings"

There will be friction between the tires and the ground resisting any changes to the alignment changes you attempt. Several ways to mitigate this.
