Dansk vs URO vs OEM bumper bellows?

Good morning - is there any real difference between these when it comes to appearance?

I am asking for potential use on my '74.

Thanks!

I know the OEM bellows are brilliant and last for a very long time. Super high quality.

No comment about Dansk or URO because I haven't seen either IRL.

Is there a big price gap?

I personally have not bought any Porsche URO parts but in the RWD Volvo community folks tend to steer away from URO rubber parts because they just dont hold up. Especially rubber hoses and engine parts.

You may find the OEM bellows come with a coating of "wax" on them in the accordion area. This is a rubber mold-release agent and it takes some work to get that stuff off. Mothers Back to Black works pretty good. Small price to pay for a good quality part

Are the ones on your 74 ripped or just faded? If faded, this stuff works wonders:

https://www.amazon.com/Forever-Black-Bumper-Trim-Dye/dp/B000FOIJXQ

Actually re-dyes the rubber and looks original.

Hi Stig.

My car lead a tough life before I got it and I don't think the existing ones are usable as the increased etc., but let me check out that product. How had it held up to sunlight in time?

I got a knock off one, don't remember if it was URO or OEM, it wasn't Porsche though. It looks different. Fits fine. The rubber seems different in color and consistency. More like plastic instead of rubber. Can't really tell when it's all together and seeing as they are so far apart it's not readily noticeable that they are different. I was just a little disappointed in the difference. Part of it could be age as well. 42 years vs brand new...

I see no difference now then when it was applied in 2014.

I recommend a thorough clean with APC, followed by a IPA clean and then coat it with CarPro Dlux. I’ve had it applied to both my Carrera and my daily driver 06 Civic Si that has never had any real love on the trim and it has restored it to like new. This car has lived its whole life outside in south Texas. And if you buy the kit you’ll have plenty to treat all the car trim and maybe enough to do all your wheels.

I bought Dansk bellows and they’re perfect. I did get the new spring inserts/tension rods (?) from Porsche; obviously you need those to maintain the right shape. John in CT.
