Window goes down slowly unless it's warm out
 

My right window goes down dreadfully slow when it is cool/cold out. If the car sits out in the sun for a bit the window goes down mostly normal but appears still appears to be dragging or catching on something thus slowing it down slightly.

It's just the passenger side - what should i be looking at?

Opening it up will let you know pretty quickly. The window regulators have a clock spring on them with a retention post that likes to break(easily fixed with a bolt), they may need to be greased after 32 years, the rubber seals could be deteriorated, and so on.

Clean contacts on switch and put basic grease or your high end lubricant of choice on the big arc thingie with teeth.

Mine was the channel felt.

Both regulators on my 86 had the broken clockspring post issue. Time to remove the complete regulator(s), clean off the old hardened grease, check the felts and probably replace the post with previously mentioned bolt fix. I used 1/4"carriage bolts with the rounded head ground down a bit to clear the arm. Just time and it's a dirty job but it will make the world of difference on your window raising speed.

Start with this, it's easier (and cheaper) You don't need to pull the door apart to do this either.

When my ('84 911 Carrera) window struggled to move up, applying silicone spray (off the shelf automotive store can of silicon spray) to the vertical channels (the felt in the channel, and let it drip down the channel, down below the 'window sill') did the trick. Over time it improved even more. I had this problem, and don't have this problem now, and that is all that was done.

I'm having the same exact problem, except that it works fine when the door is open. If the passenger door is closed, it's very slow. It's been this way for a long time but now it's gotten worse, popping the glass out of the metal holder that grips the bottom of the glass (causing that holder to fall to the bottom of the door and the glass to drop).

I've lubed the felt with silicone but no luck. I have to think the window frame is distorted when the door is closed.

Any ideas?

^^^ See above. Change the window felt. Yes there is pressure on the frame to form a good seal. You can adjust this pressure pretty easily, but then not have a good seal.

Thanks. Does changing the felt require removing the glass (and hence window frame)? It seems like it unless I'm missing something.

It is done by just rolling the window down, pull out exposed felt and then use the window to pull out the felt inside the door. A couple of threads here somewhere.
