I've only had the car for about 6 months, but I could have sworn I was able to unlock the passenger door with the key, but it did take a Herculean effort. However, it's been impossible for a couple of months. Took the door apart, handle and lock off. The lock cylinder looks great, damn near new, so I wonder if I even have the right key for it. (the key works great on the driver's door and ignition) Took it to the locksmith, who will look at it on Monday, but if not, I'll have to send it out. thanx for all of the help and suggestion. steve

If you handle is off, stick the key in the cylinder, remove the allen head screw from the back and pull the cylinder out with the key still in it. Look at the wafers and see if all are flush with the cylinder. If not, it's the wrong key.
You can file down protruding wafers while the key is inserted as an easy fix.
What number is your car?

Make sure to service all the components while you are in there.
