9" rears with RSR flares?
I'm looking at possibly purchasing a car with RSR/Turbo flares. It currently has terrible 18" wheels. I'm looking at Euromeister 16 (or possibly 17) x9" for the rear. I've searched the various forums and still can't figure out if this would work (I understand true RSRs were 11" rears) and what it would look like. Am I wrong in thinking a 9" would work?

9 x 16 or 17 Euromeisters would fit 11" flares with spacers. How thick the spacer needs to be depends on if the suspension is 911 or 930.
|
Are you sure they are not RS flares. Those are ideally 8”s but can squeeze certain 9” wheel and tire combos. 9”s on RSR flares which are more similar if not identical to turbo flares would look funny

keep in mind that tire options are VERY limited for the 245/45-16 size needed for the 16x9 -- a lot more options available in the 225/50-16 size that fits 16x8 rears.

Rota is making rsr finish 11x17
The will look wicked w your rsr flares for cheap. |

This is the look I'm trying to avoid (Rota 9" rears): https://rennlist.com/forums/attachme...416_102058.jpg |

I'd go with 8x16 or 17s in the rear for tire selection and lightness. Both 16x9 and 16x8 Fuchs would use spacers in the rear for 930 flares. I think the difference on the outside is like 4mm because most of the width of the 9" wheel is gained on the inside. |
I found something about the need for 54mm spacers with 16x9 Euromeisters. I can't find any such spacers for sale. I found one site that used to carry them but lists them as "no longer available." What spacers are people using with these?

You can get custom spacers made. Not sure where were you live.
On turbo/rsr flares 9 and 11 fits and looks nice! BUT, I would check availibility of tires, preferbly good tires, before choosing rims. There are options for wide 15" and wide 18", but few for 16 and 17. |

Here is the info, I guess you have to go to wheeldude directly http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/987785-test-fitted-some-used-rubber-rota-11x17s-9x17s.html |
I would recommend to stay with 17 wheels because of tire availability
16 are almost extinct in good rubber. My wide body runs custom CCW for this reason |
Unless you go crazy w/ tires 8 & 9 or 9.5 17s can compare well w/ 7 & 8 x16 fuchs
245/40 x17 is only a little taller and heavier than a 245/45 x16 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1526164395.gif You're still going to need large spacers w/ 930 flares |
11" wheels seem to be pretty pricey compared to Euromeisters, the widest of which seems to be 9".
This is the look I want to achieve if everything works out. The ad for this car claimed these were 17x8 and 17x9, but they seem to sit perfectly somehow: https://s13252.pcdn.co/wp-content/up...4.34.24-PM.png https://s13252.pcdn.co/wp-content/up...-GC.com-38.jpg https://s13252.pcdn.co/wp-content/up...-GC.com-26.jpg There's clearly some sort of a spacer on there: https://bringatrailer.com/wp-content...-GC.com-93.jpg |
11x17 and 9x 17 rotas.

Are these Rotas still made? I can't find them anywhere.
