Are these factory worker chassis number markings?

Good morning. I pulled my dash off yesterday to refurbish it and saw these number markings. This is related to body number or build spec in anyway?

Yes, those are factory markings. Often, when a car has missing tags or apparent ID tampering, pulling the dash to reveal the hand written number often helps in identifying the vehicle correctly.

If your doors are original to the car they will be marked too.

There is also a number stamped in the lower part of the dash behind the trim.

Yes, that number is stamped into the sheet metal behind the knee pad, just under the radio. It is a production number which does not necessarily correspond to the VIN. The hand written number is also a production number and it should match the stamped one behind the knee pad.

Think she waited 44 years for me to find her number?
