Oh shoot - sorry Matt, is that not how it should run? I'll make a single thread for this car then with any question I might have. Sorry, I thought different questions would only get answered if I posted them separately. Damn that must have been annoying. Sorry.

Posting the questions individually is fine. You’re more likely to catch someone’s eye with the question in the subject line. Moreover, why wait until you assemble a group of questions before posting? Carry on.

The window washer reservoir is in the left side fender.

ALL fluids are incompressible therefore, even water can be used in the brakes. Boiling point is a bit low but it will work just fine! :)

Yep, in front of the driver side front wheel. Filler is under the fuel door next to the gas cap.

Break down and buy Bentley and 101 Projects now. Since you are going to be a DIY'er, you will need them sooner than later. When, at some point in the future, you see their grease stained and dog eared pages, you will take great satisfaction in all you have done to your car. I have found that those 2 books and this forum are all I need to complete 99% of my projects.

Agreed. And if buying these items used, keep in mind the “grease stained and dog eared pages” may not reflect your knowledge. Ask me how I know.

Did this 15 years ago and still refer to them often. 101 projects for the early easy fixes and Bentley for more advanced projects is how it went for me.

When I bought my 911, I didn't even know how to open the engine lid to check the oil, or have a clue how to get the targa top off and on.

Enjoy the car and the 'reveal' process. Good news is that most everything makes sense and is easy to work on once you get into it.

Instead of posting a pic of the giant pool of brake fluid on your garage floor along with the OMG what have I done freak out question, plug off that side port with a short piece of hose with a couple of hose clamps and a small bolt in the outbound side of the hose. Seal that port off.

That is an overflow vent. The Motive allows you to force fluid from the Motive container into the brake reservoir. It will vent onto floor if not sealed off.

Wow... that sounds like a useful tool. I'll have to look into that, as I'm getting ready to take apart all of my brakes.

Whatever you do, do not start take it completely apart thinking you are going to restore it. Do one thing at a time, keep it roadworthy. WAY too many new members start stripping and years go by as it sits on jack stand in parts. Don’t pul it apart, one project at a time, trust me

Never tried it myself but probably can be used to clean windows too, brake fluid that is. It definitely works as a paint stripper.

Owner's manual and Bentley are must-haves if you intend to DIY.

Looks like I am late to the party, sounds like you are getting good advice. As for the intensive washer tank, take care of it.....I have been looking for one to add to my '89 project and they appear to be unobtainium new or used...
