Engine dimensions for 3.0L SC
I’m building a manifold from scratch for a cis to efi conversion, and I’m wondering where I can find the dimensions for the center to center distance between the intake ports on a SC 3.0L engine.
There was an interesting article at: http://www.sdsefi.com/techinta.htm on fabricating an intake. If you click on the link at the very bottom you’ll see another cool intake for a flat four. My plan is to build velocity stacks straight up from the heads, and enclose the air horns inside a tube like the first example, but I want to put the throttle body at the end of the tube like the second example. I figure I’ll build two manifolds with two independent throttle bodies, the same way as the Viper intake. If anyone can help with dimensions, or where I can get them I will be grateful. My car is a daily driver, and with the rather cool weather right now it is hard for me to get accurate measurements needing all of my heating system in place. TIA |
Anybody have a 3.2l intake not on their engine, that they can measure the center to center distance between ports?

How about ~ 11.8 cm center to center. Measured off the passenger side of a 3.2L manifold

I wonder if anyone knows of any blueprints anywhere, (that would anywhere this side of Stuttgart). I would think the easiest blueprint to find would that of the crank. A blueprint of the crank would reveal an accurate distance between the centers of every other throw. Don’t reach for the little spec book, it’s not in there. Thanks again PMAC, I can start a scale drawing now. |
The center to center dimension between the intake ports would be the same as any of the following:
C to C of the exhaust ports. A point on one cylinder head to same point of adjacent cylinder head. C to C of sparkplugs. Several points of symmetry under the intake or exhaust covers. Pull an intake valve cover and measure away. |

I am aware of the many points that will equal the center to center distances for the intake ports. I doubt I will get a better measurement than PMAC has already done for me, but I wonder why a blueprint is so elusive for the engine. I'm working with 11.8cm, that PMAC provided, but a blueprint may reveal the real distance to be 11.78cm or maybe 11.82cm, a mm here or there could save a headache later in the fitting process. With the several thousand members of this board I just figured someone might have some drawings in their personal archives. |
