You know if Chris was doing it for money, I'd send my motor to him for a rebuild. I think some of you know how meticulous he has been.

Got to give the guy a tip of my hat.

John70t, there weren't that many tools involved, and that is the only tool box in the garage. I give the guy credit for being creative with what he's got (Chris, you hiding tools in the house?).

Glad to I have the opportunity be involved Chris (not kissing up to get another ride in the 930 either )

See you Saturday, and I'll bring donuts.

THanks guys...

John, it's the only one. Just a dual Craftsman, and I've only had that for about 2 years.... got my first compressor 2 months ago... What SOuk said. I've actually got a decent spread of hand tools (my grandfather was a machinist). Enough anyway...

Thanks to Souk for the pictures, help, and moral support too! It's been great to share this with the local guys and because of this project I've got Porsche contacts in my new neighborhood.

So do you think it will run better on Guinness? I mean its black and liquid, and tastes better than dino oil.

Very nice rebuild. Well done

Dickster: It's out of the race car... Built to run in the < 3.0L or displacement class in Vintage... Motor is originally a stock SC engine that I ran for two years, overrevved it, then re-built it. Subsequently loaded up the rebuild with "while I'm in there's".

Doesn't everything run better on Guiness? I know I do.

My palms are getting sweaty just thinking about starting it for the first time. Prior to this my most ambitious car project was replacing the braking system on the racecar. Thanks to my mechanic friends, this board, and Wayne's book I decided that building a race motor as my first engine rebuild ever was doable. We'll know soon enough if I was right

Wayne,

Sage advice.... If I don't get it started, won't be the end of the world. I still have 6-7 weeks left before the season. After all this work it would be a tragedy to mess something up in the 11th hour.

Thanks for the voice of reason.
