Mystery wire ??

Hi Gentleman

Just did my first engine drop to clean up a few annoying leaks on my 1980SC US spec.

The cold start valve has 3 wires coming out of it, 2 go to the thermal switch mounted in the left chain case but the Yellow with Blue stipe is puzzling me any ideas??

maybe starter relay/solenoid??

cheers

Michael

Terminal 16 on the starter solenoid.
Used to energize the entire CSV and TTS circuit

Likely the temp sensor on the right chain case. (If it is long and a single connector on the end)

That is the wire to the passenger side chain case temperature sender.
Should be in same mounting area as the TTS sender on Driver’s side.

That’s part of the lambda sensor system under the passenger seat.

That wire connects to the missing sensor on your chain case.
The 6 pin connector plugs into the female plug on the top left area in the engine compartment above the torsion bar. From there it runs to the Lambda box under your seat.

All Euro and ‘78/‘79 US models did not have Lambda, so not used on those.

It is a temperature switch for controlling mixture until it warns up to a certain temp.
That is about all I know about it.

If it were me, I’d ditch all of it (CIS) and install EFI...
Oh yeah, I already did that 7 years ago....
