Question When is "The Speed Merchants" not "The Speed Merchants?

Ok - I know that the movie was released under two titles -- both "The Speed Merchants" as well as "Wheels of Thunder".

But did anyone else know that there appear to be two different books too!
There is "The Speed Merchants -- The World of Road Racing -- The Men , The Machines, The Tracks" such as I just bought recently off of Ebay by Michael Keyser , and there is "The Speed Merchants - The Drivers, The Cars, The Tracks -- A Journey through the world of Motor Racing, 1969 - 1972" by Michael Keyser and Brian Redman. Comparing the book that I just bought off of Ebay (1973 copy) with the Amazon ad, and I've come to the conclusion that they are two VERY different books.

Here's what the publisher says:

When first published in 1973, The Speed Merchants was hailed among other books on racing as “the standard by which other works should be judged.” Now, the author has totally revised the book, more than doubling the number of photographs and adding a personal dimension that could only be brought by someone in his unique position as driver, photographer, and filmmaker.
