Man, that is about as sexy as anything I have seen lately, at least in the way of a car

Are these kits or an iteration of an actual 356 Outlaw?

There is little mystery why the 356 is so beloved, even to this day. Lowered, with fat tires and most trim removed, they are as mean-looking as any other hotrod. The ragtops are pure jewelry. The breathtaking prices paid for the speedsters and ragtops and Carreras....are fair prices.

Earlier Posting

there were a couple of pics and posts about similar cars here
a few days ago. I have no idea of the headings or what to search
for. I think one was a link to E-Bay, and there was some discussion as to whether or not they had tops.

That black coupe has to be one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. The over-stuffed wheel well look of the two French vehicles doesn't do it for me.

But fella's, just imagine if Porsche took the money they make from the Cayenne and decided to produce a new, modern 356 ala VW did with the Bug and BMW is now doing with the Mini. I cannot say this would be it but it could be a pretty spanking car.

I prefer the real ones, too, especially when they have something with four cams in the back (this belongs to a very fortunate friend of mine)...

Don't those replicas have Subaru 4-cylinder powerplants? They seem like a nice piece for some loaded guy who never leaves the confines of his Beverly Hills estate except to cruise Wilshire and make a few stops on Rodeo drive. I too personally prefer the genuine piece, make mine a red Carrera GS/GT with yellow rally lamps and a big ole burly stinger exhaust.

Another interesting take this time from the Parts Obsolete guys. And isn't that our own MarkP's car in the background?

Yup,

MarkP's car in background....Gary built that car last year.....

The foreground car I believe was built by Gary Emory's brother (Neil) in the mid 80's...and I think it has a "6" in it....
