window motor electrical connection - 1988 911

I am ready to pull out what little hair I have left. I need to replace the passenger side window motor in my 1988 911. Before pulling the whole regulator and motor assemble out I wanted to do one last test to make sure the wires from the switch to the motor aren’t the problem. I have not seen this type of connector before and have tried everything to release this connector. As my frustration builds, I’m afraid that I might break the connector. Attached is a picture of the motor showing the connection on the motor. I can wiggle the connector but can’t get it to release….please help.

Hi..don`t be afraid and pull .You are replacing the motor anyway so if you brake the plastic on the female connector you can easily use the same connectors with heat-shrink or new female connectors.
Also use some small screwdriver to pry the connector off...

I don't have a pic of the female connector, but it has a center lock that I think you have to pull away slightly. I found this old mark-up that I did, hopefully you can see it and that you're trying to clear the tab on the male side.

steely & proporsche,

Thanks for your input. I'm trying to do this while it is still in the door so visibility isn't great. But your pic is helpful. I will try again tomorrow and hopefully have better luck. Like you said..."use the same connectors with heat-shrink or new female connectors."

Just FYI, in my case I spent about 2 years going nuts trying to resolve a random non working passenger power window. It ended up being due to a kink in the wiring where it goes from the body into the door. Fixed that and has worked perfectly since.
