dashboard upgrade

Hello, was wondering about changing an 85 dash up to an 86-89.. Everything seems like it should fit fine except for the defrosters. bit of work might be involved to do that properly. Has anyone done the conversion?
thanks

I have thought about doing the same to my 85 Targa, but got a hold of a correct dash. However, I have seem threads of others who have done it and it seems pretty straight forward and without any issues. If anything some screws could be different from one dash to another, but I don't think it will be something major. Anyway hopefully someone who has done this conversion will chime in.

thank you very much! very helpful. I'm not sold on how the defroster works with the trim piece.. think i'll keep my car with the original dash.
