Engine Bay Fuel Hard lines and Filter bracket
I am in the process of fitting my 1983 SC engine from my wrecked SC into a donor 1976 shell and seek some assistance/guidance.
The SC engine area was stripped out of all parts to get it ready for repairs, and the 1976 donor shell was also pretty much stripped out when I got it as well. SO I am now at the point where I need to install the SC's hard fuel lines from the couplings where the lines come through from the tunnel and then up to the area where the fuel filter and accumulator are located - and I can't find any photo's or guidance to indicate the proper path and mountings. I believe the 1976 shell might have had soft fuel lines for this part. Does anyone have any photos or guidance on how to route and mount the lines? Also, the bracket that holds the fuel filter and accumulator in the 1983 SC is different to the one from the 1976 shell - the SC has them side by side and the 1976 model has the accumulator below the filter, with the filter at an angle. The holes to mount the bracket to the side wall of the engine bay for the 1983 SC are also different to the 1976 shell mounts. If I go ahead and use the 1976 mount (as this is what the shell is set for), is there a problem with the 1983 filter being mounted on an angle? Or are the accumulator and filter for the 83SC so different that I should I change the mount to the right one and change the mounting points to suit? I am about to start a project build thread soon to document the trials and tribulations of a total rebuild using a donor shell - this is one of the early challenges.

The difference with accumulators is the early one, if, there is a diaphragm rupture the fuel becomes a fire hazard leaking from the bottom. The SC has a return line on the bottom going back to the tank if a rupture occurs
The SC uses the large accumulator. Any dismantler should have the console with lines. Remove the sponge from the crossover left side with engine out installing the SC fuel lines is kind of a puzzle but not bad. Remember to use the retainers to support the lines along the trans. Bruce |

![]() Use the SC Filter and Accumulator. Buy the mount/bracket if you do not have this. For the Feed and Return use hoses as with the 76. The 83 Hardlines and short Hoses are NLA from Porsche and do not match the 76 Tunnel lines. ![]() I can help with the Rear Hoses and correct fittings if needed. ![]() Len dot Cummings at Verizon dot net

This is the under car view of my 81SC rear hard fuel lines, I also purchased new hard lines through a Porsche Sydney dealer.
