Some get it, some don’t... it is all good. To each their own.

I don't have a badge but the threads don't bug me.

I disregarded Shane's original thread because I thought it had something to do with oil. Then I dug in and got a kick out of it.

Maybe it's still fresh for me?

It's far from reversing the gasses.

I might even get one. Are Targas excluded?

Bob - any SC qualifies. Mine's on a cab.

What goes around, comes around as they say. Back in 2000 when I got my 62 356 roadster I discovered there was a roadster badge that was produced in the late 70s. Unobtanium. That made me want one even more.

I'm typing this as I proudly wear my SCWDP t-shirt at work. My C.R.A.P. shirt is on deck for Friday.

Run it to the ground? Haha, wow.

I am not Leland Pate I will admit, never pretended to be. No one was doing anything with it, I took it and expanded it, came up with an idea for the badge design, had a lot of people over the last 8 year’s or so ask for them. Every so often I have gone out on the proverbial limb and fronted most of the money for getting them produced and for the most part, it has been an awesome experience that is a tongue-n-cheeky sort of thing. You know, fun, ever hear of it? Geeze, some free advice, if you are not interested in a post, simply do what most of us do and ignore it.

And yes, i sold my cab about 5 years ago. My wife had a major illness that left her bedridden for 2 years and and the car was a distraction. Sold it right before the market exploded on air cooled cars. And yet, I still have gone through the hassle of providing the badges on occasion when enough people have asked about them.

I was really going to just ignore your reply, but this will serve as my only response to it. Sorry I somehow offended your presence mate. rant done.

Shane I think it's cool. I don't have a SC and I think it's cool. Whatever, there needs to be more 911 groups anyway. It's always admirable when people actually do something positive in this world. It's admirable when people do anything. Don't let it get the wind out of your sails. You did a great thing and the 911 world is better for it. If I see a badge I'd probably even put on on my midyear grill. Most people would not know or care because it's flared anyhow...

please be advised: I owe all who have read or will read this thread in the future an apology for the douchiness I exhibited here. most of all I need to express my regret to shane for my abusive rubbish directed toward him hoping for HIS forgiveness. please accept my apology shane.

I am experiencing some trying times currently, but that was still no excuse for my behavior. ill have you guys know this act of mine has kept me up at night from time to time since. for those that have lost what little respect for me they had or will not forgive me being such a richard I am bummed for sure as a long time member.

it was important enough for me to come back and throw myself upon the court as a 1st generation SCWDP member.. we never had any stinking badges!!!

Juan,

No worries mate. Too many more important things in the world to place our efforts and attention on than cars and the silly things we all do to show our love for them (which is completely fine of course, haha). All is well. I appreciate your post. Send me your address and I will send you a hat (2nd generation, haha). I wish you well.

Best regards, Shane
