3.2 Engine built with Turbo Pistons - Fresh in Crate
We are changing direction on a couple of car projects and find that we no longer need this engine.
This engine started as a small port 3.0 engine. We had it overhauled and upgraded by Kevin Farrell, Injection Labs. Original stroke was retained with high compression 98MM pistons (thus 3.2 liters) and twin-plug heads, many other nice bits such as ARP head studs, etc. I spent $12,000 (have receipts) plus the cost of the engine and shipping. Build included all bearings, valves, valve seals, etc. Very nicely built engine. Drove it in our spyder for about 12,000 miles. It was just flat out stupid fast and as reliable as an anvil. We pulled that from the spyder and shipped it back to Kevin Farrell to morph into another project. Tear down and inspection, pistons swapped to JE turbo pistons, cams reground for turbo application, and heads port-matched to a 3.2 intake manifold. The goal was to build a replica 904 twin-turbo but that idea is shelved permanently. An additional $6,500 was spent including disassembly and checking to ensure all parts sound/reusable (e.g. valves, etc., all with just 12,000 miles). Rods, main and shaft bearings replaced as precautionary measure for a high output turbo build only while engine was disassembled. This engine has never been unsealed from the crate. It has been sitting in dry storage since the build in July, 2010. I opened the crate for pictures only - left the engine still wrapped/sealed in plastic. This engine, still in the crate from Injection Labs, is up for sale $18,000. **I'll have to check the compression - I don't see the part # on the build sheet - says "JE Turbo Pistons"**. angela
