Need MFI help

Hello fellow Pelicans. I am hoping someone on this forum can help me. I am converting my 72 T back to MFI from carbs. The supposedly complete set I purchased from an unreliable someone who will remain nameless is in really good condition except it came with 2 right side plastic stacks. My bad for not checking earlier. I didn't notice until I placed them on the car. I will include pics . Ideally I would trade a right for a left. If someone has a left they want to sell, I will consider that. That would at least give me an idea of what I should sell my extra for.

Hi Cal... You actually have 2 left sides. There is no difference with the left and right other than the threaded inserts and the 4 little metal sleeves for the spring clips. Otherwise they are the same. If you can't find a right I would just remove the threaded inserts (or just leave them). You don't really need the metal sleeve for the spring clips but maybe you can move them.

I'll check to see if I have a spare right side.

On that picture someone is using a left stack on the right side. The threaded inserts go on the left stack and are for the micro switch and other stuff. If you look close you can also see the metal sleeves for the spring clips on the inside of the stack and they should be on the outside

John is correct. I just looked at mine which are original to the car and they have the exact same part numbers on both and the only difference is the threaded inserts.

I’m with 959, just use it like it is, all replacements stacks of the time we’re 1-2-3 side with the inserts.

I would be willing to trade my right side for a left however it was trimmed for an upgraded a/c compressor. I can send pics if interested but your extra left side should be fine.

Here is a picture of a T right stack. I circled the little metal inserts where the clips go. All the stacks have the 8 mounts for the clips but only 4 of them will have the metal inserts and they are the opposite 4 from side to side. The clips will work fine without the metal inserts but I image over time it will wear out the hole in the plastic. I've never tried to move them or find some metal tubing that would fit in the holes. Either way it should be easy. If you decide to just remove the threaded inserts let me know, I have an easy way to do that.

This stack was bored to S specs otherwise you could have it. I can check in my storage tomorrow but it looks like you may have a trade worked out.

I’m not really sure, but I think I’m as well off using what i have on the wrong side as opposed to a trimmed one. I’d liked to hold out for a stock unmodified right that looks right

A bored S stack won't match to T throttle body. The bore is much different size.
