FS: SWB Dash for 65-66 - recovered with correct speaker grill pattern

I have a recovered SWB dash available for sale, which I believe is correct for a 65 & 66 911. This was a core that I acquired from another board member and recovered in German vinyl to test the tooling that we had made for the SWB speaker hole pattern. It has not been installed since recovering and I do not have a swb car in the pipeline, so I am offering it for sale here. The core was repadded, but the horsehair remained intact and the dash therefore mimics a bit of the "lumpiness" that is found on SWB dashes as they age. The white showing through the holes is more pronounced in the photos than in person. The threaded studs are intact, but the clips are missing. $750 plus shipping, which is almost like getting the core for free. Visa/MC/check preferred and in-person inspection welcome. Thanks

Fit a '68?

George - I'm looking for a nice 2 piece '68 Dash pad, would take both parts but really need the front, large main half. Looking for a real nice one.

Would your pad fit properly?

Or could you repair my original cracked dash?

Will pay $$ or trade a decent 07/69 dated deep six fuch wheel if you need that?

Robert

Robert,
I don't think the early dash will fit a 68 properly. The main difference (aside from the two-piece nature of the 68) is the ends where the dash meets the door tops. The 68 dash is more like the later 69-on dash in this regard. Send me some photos and we'll see if we can bring your 68 dash back to life. Thanks
George

Hi George, I sent a email to socalcars concerning 68 dash. I have a really nice 69 later dash that the front part is perfect but the flat part where the speaker holes are is cracked. I als have the flat part with holes from a 68 that is really nice and I am thinking by cutting the flat part off the 1 piece dash and using the 68 part could make a really nice 68 1 year only dash? Steve

I have not tried cutting the flat part of a later dash away, but I suppose this could work. I also believe that an entire 69+ dash will fit a 68, but of course will not look correct.

Hi George - Is your dash still available? I'm looking for one that would fit my 66 912. I would also need the same material to redo the knee pads and door panel tops.

Thanks - Steve C.

Steve,
This one is on hold for a customer pending pickup next week. If you have a core, we can recover it for you, along with the knee pads and door tops at the same time. PM me for more details. Thanks
George
