It seems odd that the case has an engine type but no serial number. I have a '67 engine with a replacement case and it doesn't have a serial or engine type number. Any other pelicanites want to offer their expertise on this one. I am rather curious as to what I have as well.

Type number cases were factory replacements...
But the serial numbers were obviously left blank. No dog in this race but that looks like a reasonable deal on a 72-73 S case. Are the crank journals std? You have P and Cs for sale...do you have any of the other parts to make up a short or long block?

crank journals are standard. I do have most parts to make a shortblock. I didn't post the crank, rods, intermediate shaft, etc. as they're common to all 2.4 engines. but I do have them available. also a set of fresh rebuilt MFI T heads. they could be ported to S spec.

I understand that this was used in 1973. Ricardo |

I couldn.t fnd much of a sales history for 72-73 S cases. The only two credible ones I could find were $4500 and $5000. |

Yes, is an S case!
Your case its an Engine case type 911/53 with correct engine case Revisions 901.101.101.5R and 901.101.102.4R that was used on a 1973 Porsche 911S. The question is if it's a blank number case or replacement case or deleted number case?? but, in any event, it is good to have a blank case with the correct case type numbers and with correct engine case Revisions numbers. 72/73 911s Engines and MFI set ups are so difficult to find this days... If this case is in good condition and If I had a 1973 Porsche 911S with a non 911s engine I would buy it!!! Last edited by riquile; 03-12-2014 at 09:42 AM.. Reason: made a mistake |

sorry...didn't see that the case was an S also like the P&Cs....so that's the reason for the $$$ price ....the old S factor....
what I have is a 73.5 7R T CIS case small spigots ....some what rare but not like the S items good luck with the sale....nice looking parts!
