engine tuning codes porsche 912

hi 912 friends,

i'm Rob from Holland / the Netherlands.

last year i bought a 912 1966 with matching engine.
the car was used for track days. tuned engine, lowered, sway bars, stiff suspension and so on.

i'm curious if somebody can help me with some questions about my matching numbered engine.
the latest owner did let me know that the engine was tuned but he did not get any specificationes when he bought the car.
i found some specific numbers on the engine and i think these are codes the engine-tuner stamped in.
is there anyone who knows what these codes mean or knows wich tuningcompany uses these codes
the codes are LS1.4 and LS25 (LS1.4 could be refering to a special rocker-kit but i don't know for sure)

thanks so far,

rob (from Holland/ the Netherlands

Hi bobresto,
thanks for your reply.
yes, i bought the car of a guy living in Los Altos Hills CA.
i checked on internet and wow.... Lukes&Shorman was a wellknown tuning company of Porsches. even their machinist Thomas Manning was well known and a specialist in racing engines.
i will try to find out as much as possible about this company. unfortunately it does not excists enymore.

I believe the person that would know the marks would be Jim Breazeal. He recently closed down his business, EASY, in Emeryville Ca. I will let you find his phone #. You are obviously capable..... good luck.... Bye the way your engine probably has NPR 96mm P/C. Bill and Tom had those down to a science.

hi bobresto,
you're right about Lukes & Shorman. i contacted Richard of 356Coachworks and he confirmed that it's a real Lukes & Shorman engine. He was the last apprentice of Richard Lukes and he will try to find out the meaning of all codes on the engine (i found some others also)
the code LS25 is indeed about the bored bearings.
i read some articles about EASY closing down. Rod Emory bought all the inventory i believe.
if you've got a recent phonenumber of Jim i will contact him also. i want to know as much as possible about this , a sort of famous engine built by a famous company (and still matching numbered)
