Rear window seal.
Hi guys I have a 1968 912 Porsche I’m doing everything myself except for the paint job and getting close
Just installed the windshield with brand new seals came out great I am having issues trying to figure out the rear window Can anyone take a close-up picture for me so I can see what the finished product looks like I know the rear window sets down above the roofline under the little vents but something doesn’t seem right with the way the rubber is sealing. around the body I have looked for videos and photos but can’t seem to get a nice close up really want to see what the rubber seal looks like on the outside going across the bottom and when it goes up the sides to the top does the rubber recess in as well Thanks |

I know a picture is worth 1000 words so if anyone has a 911 on 912 air cooled Porsche if you could send a few nice close-up photos of the rear window rubber seals
around the opening thanks again |

Well it’s me again and I figured it out myself.
Drove to a place where a guy restores 912. And figured it out now and was not easy. The seal need to flip outside while pushing glass in. And was very difficult it kept sliding in toward the car. So I used little hard plastic tools to slid under gasket and flip outward. Well not easy took me and wife at least 6 different tries and be very careful when pulling chrome moldings off old seals not to bend chrome moldings. Very critical. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
