912E jacking point
Hi All,
I'm about to put the 912E up on jack stands for a long awaited heavy C-Check (aviation term). Any suggestions for a preferred point to put the jack for the rear pair of stands? I have read the Pelican Brief blog on jacking the 911. However, just wondering if there is an optimum location for doing the same for the 12E ? Suggestions/comments.... Discuss? DJ |
Hi DJ - in addition to the tech article that you likely referenced, Jacking Up Your Car, check out the link below as well.

Here's how I deal with my MY68 912 (912E shouldn't be much different):
With rear jack stands in place, I lift the front of the car using an ATV jack located either side of the tow hook/front a-arm mount reinforcement; jack stands can be located at multiple places to include the suspension cross bar, front a-arm mounts... Peter |
Peter and Dmitre,
Thanks for your help. DJ |
Agree with above for sure. The rear torsion bar tube is a great place to use jack stands and gives you plenty of stability for suspension work . The front crossmember is another great spot . You can place wheels and jacks in other spots for safety while you're working.
