Can anyone recommend a good inexpensive compass that is compatable with our cars. I have and old Airguide that gets confused every time the car turns around. I have adjusted it with a non-magnetic screwdriver according to the mfg. instructions but it is not reliable any more.
There are new digital units out there but some of them are very $$ and are a nice thing to steal. Thanks for your advice. Ron D

Ron,
Go GPS, you can get very nice units for under $100 and can do lots of things like "calibrate" your speedometer! We did the calibration thing a while back, 7 out of 7 912's had speedometers that were reading high. My car for example was reading 80 but the GPS said I was doing 74. The faster I went the closer to actual speed I got, 100 MPH indicated, was 98 actual. Slower I got the worse it got. I opted to do nothing so if I pass a CHP at 75 MPH I am really doing 68. C |
