I purchased what I hope is the right BB kit from a guy on E-Bay. The mfg is Nippon Piston Ring Inc, the part number on the box ( I think its the box they came in when new ) is 86p the a line under that has the number u9x9910a. the box says VW in big letters. The piston Sleeves are not Al but steel or iron. The guy wrote in his add that they came from Harrys Estate. Did I just waste $275.00 dollars ? Thanks Gary

Have you got any measurements for the pistons? rings? The 86 may refer to the diam. and that's what the NPR big bores are I think. They should be cast iron barrels. Have you got the auction number? Photos? $275 sounds like a bargain!

If your pistons are indeed 86mm they are not for a VW motor the only available vw sized are 85.5mm,90.5mm,92mm,94mm.
