What size jet???????
Hi again,.
I run a set of 40 IDF's on my 912. The car is originally from Cali and then was shipped to Mexico City that is 7,000 ft above sea level. When I start to press the accletator it seems to lag then about at 3500 to 4000 it pulls strong. It has to be running rich because the gas mileage is worst then my truck. Does anyone no what Jet size to put in. Is there a rule you go by as per the amount of feet above sea level you are? Andrew. |

When I got my car home from Denver it had 120 mains and 50 idle in it, way too lean for Michigan at Sea Level. I now got 135 mains and 60 idle. Check your idle jets too, I think these carb run off the idle jets until about 3000 rpm? pick up an assortment of different jets and experment with it, watch your plugs for proper burn.

Thanks for the info Craig
I will look into getting some different Jets to try out. One more thing. do you think it would be a good idea to first start with changing the venturi to 32 rather then the original 28, I do have a big bore kit in the car. Andrew. |

Main jet, not venturi
Andrew - with 32 mm venturis you should be running about a 125 main and 200 air correction. If running too rich, go to a 120 main. Fine tune it with the air correction - however that has more affect on the high rpm range.
