I currently own a right-hand drive, 5-speed gear Porsche 912 (1969) . And i have a gear shifting difficulty. 1st gear is difficult to engage, Reverse gear lockout not working. Can engage Reverse without moving lever to the extreme top left hand. The Gearbox is reconditioned by Maestro. Gear Linkage has been adjusted as per workshop manual. Is it due to a Faulty Gear Lever Assembly?????
Do you have a complete set of the gear lever assembly ??? Thanks!! for your help. Please reply As Soon As Possible. Daniel Ling(Singapore) |

Hi Daniel,
Sounds like it would have to be the shifter coupler at the rear of the tunnel may need to be adjusted some. I say this because you mention you can engage reverse without moving the shifter all the way to the left. Are all of the other gears engaging?

1st and reverse gears are difficult to engage, the other gears can be engaged easily with ease.

Ok, either the shifter has a problem or you need to readjust the coupler in the rear of the tunnel a notch or two to the left...I think that should get ya going.
