Question poor running engine

Hi group, thanks for your previous help. Asa new 69 912 owner I have another question. I have not driven my car much in the past 2 weeks and took it out today. The engine always has run very smoothly but now the engine sounds like it does not want to idle and spits as I take off other times it sounds fine. I took it on the freeway and level it ran fine but up a hill started spurttering again. Any help would be great. Could it be fouled plug(s)?Thanks, Mark

Most likely plugged idle jets or fouled plugs.

How about clogged fuel filter? Crappy old gas with stuff floating in it? Try some Heet in there, there might be water in the gas for whatever reason.

WE were doing some other work and found out it wasa broken ring. We are also replacing the spirngs. So it sould be up and running next week. The previous owner(or who ever did his engine work) did some mickey mouse things so we are getting it right. Thanks, Mark
