Hello, I have put a 1.7 914 type 4 in my '66 912 while I rebuild its real motor... Now I am using the 914 alt. and regulator. There seems to be just ground and bat+ (red wire) to make it work (I have the little wiring harness from the 914). But is there now no indicator for fan belt/non-charging failure? Any tips greatly appreciated... Oh and I obviously will not connect the 912 regulator... E-mail a scanned sketch or diagram ok too...

hey I also have a type IV(2.0 914) in my 912 ('69) there should be a small blue(field) wire from your alt. just connect that to the wire that goes to the alt. light on the dash. this wire is now connected to your old reg. I think maybe a green wire. mine works great!
