Is there anything I can do about the chrome grill near the indicator?
Hello,
I just purchased a 912 a few days ago and the one thing I don't like about the car's appearance is the little chrome piece near the turn indicators up front, this ugly piece: ![]() I have been looking for something to replace this piece (perhaps a brake duct of some sort like on the 993) but I haven't seen anything that will work - I did find pictures of 912's with this piece painted body color and in black, but I didn't really like the result (although it is an improvement). Is the only method of getting rid of this piece some kind of front end update? ex fenders & bumper from a '74+? I was really hoping to find a simple piece to swap the grill with... |

Maybe add some round rally lights... SWB grills are worth alot, so don't let someone talk you out of them for a song....

Ooh, no. Don't convert your long hood car into a later look. You'll kill it's value, and there is a growing number of people wanting early look cars. If you want a later looking car, it's a whole lot easier to sell your current car and buy something later. The price you could get for your car plus the money it would take to convert it would buy you all sorts of later cars (that would also mostly be 911s - or a 1976 912e!).

What year is your 912 ? I believe the horn grills had different mounting holes based on the year.
And what do you mean by ugly ? As in it is pitted ? Or you just don't like this part that is found on early cars ? -Don B
