Missing Bits

All,

I am going over my new 912e and looking for "missing bits" and other problems. During this process I found that the battery is not secured to the car at all, it is simply sitting up front waiting to slide around on every turn. Does anyone have pictures of what I am supposed to have up there? While your looking, where does the windshield wahser mount? Mine is missing altogether ...

you should have a threaded mounting point just in front of the leading edge of the battery, between battery and front bumper and at the back edge of the battery. An angled bracket should be bolted to this point securing the battery at both ends.

Having said that mine has had a new battery tray panel fitted, so may be different, also my old battery covered these mounting points! yours may do the same.

The screen washer resevoir should be located up in side the front wheel arch, drivers side, this is topped up via the filler in the fuel filler flap, smaller one than the fuel one!!

Its pump should be located inside the luggage compartment just infront of the battery! on the front slam panel adjacent to the bumper. If its missing its a standard Bosch part, I picked one up off a scrapped Volvo it used the same rubber mountings so it doesn't vibrate through the body. Appears to be the same part as standard.

When I first had my E a small washer bottle had been fitted up front because the previous owner thought the actual water res' was blocked beyond repair. I removed it and flushed it out and it all works fine now, though it did block up again a few times after. I discovered that some strange chemistry had happened inside with the water and screen wash, strangely it had turn the water to a thick jelly substance that stuck like hell to the inside blocking all the washer pipes up. Must have had high colestrol level screen wash!!!
