Can You get this type of muffler for the 912e?

There was one on eBay last week, It was for a 914, but could be adapted. If I remember correctly, it was originally from Stoddard!

I just bought a Dansk 911 sport muffler. I'm going to try to make it work by hacking the flanges off my Bursch. I'll report back.

Dave, you are doing what several told me was too much hassel to attempt. I finally got my OEM muffler so I abandoned the idea...it seems that the general consensus was the the flanges would be too much of a pain to deal with. I posess no welder or skills to perform this task. However, if you wish to take any measurements or "stare and compare" on mine then just say the word and I'll drive to meet ya...

I have the stock heat exchanger primaries minus the outer tins. Presently I have a Bursch on it, but that's not optimal as we all know. So, I plan on having the local custom exhaust shop (Danny's, in Torrance) take a crack at it. He seems like a crafty guy. If he says it will cost too much, I'll just skip it. But, we'll see. I'm interested to figure out how to hang the muffler. 911 straps won't work, I don't think. May have to weld on a bracket to bolt up somehere with a rubber hanger. We'll see.

FYI, Proformance in Orange, CA tells me they can fit an equal length header for a 912E for around $600. Doesn't sound too bad to me, in Porsche relative dollars that is.

I have an AutoCAD drawing of the flange. I have not had time to double check it yet but it should be fine. Just print it out 1:1 and hold it up to your heat exchanger flanges to double-check. I intended to have flanges laser cut. It should not cost much more than $20 each flange in stainless steel. Email me if you want a copy of the CAD file but the condition is that you must write back to me if there are any problems at all with the drawing.
