clutch adjustment

Looking over my recently purchased `68, I noticed that there seems to be no free play between the t/o brg and the PP. The t/o is spinning all the time. I tried adjusting the tranny end of the cable but the cable seems preloaded from the front. Common sense tells me there should be a bit of free play between the t/o bearing and the PP. Trans shifts beautifully . Any suggestions for a rookie?? Jeff Winter

clutch free play

I discovered a missing clutch arm return spring and spring pin. I`m finding out some cars had them and some did not. I feel better now that I`m giving the T/O bearing a rest between shifts.
A happy t/o bearing is a good t/o bearing. Jeff
