After jump starting my '67 recently due to a completly dead battery I get no charge and the amp light stays on. Replaced the battery which was due and re-polarized the generator ... maybe. Should't the gen spin when polarizing? BTW Stoddard qouted me $325 for a Volt Reg ... and they have none ....

The generator does not spin when it is Polarized, or "Flashed".

Yes .. just the regulator and also quoted $120 for an oil temp sender ( should be $25) .. which they don't have either. I'll retest everything today ... if it gets above 40 degrees.

Found the regulator thru a local shop with good supply connections for $105 retail. Took the old reg apart and cleaned the contacts ... will try again tonight. Gen spins nicely with B+ to D+ so don't think it is the gen.
