912 Caliper Replacement
I am restoring a 68 912 and I am trying to find out if I can use Type M Calipers from a 911, or a 914-6. Does anyone know? From what I can tell they all have 3 inch centers on the mounting bolts, but the one for the 912 are supposed to be solid rotors and for the 911 they are vented rotors. Does that make a difference?
Please help? |

The calipers for the vented rotors should be a direct bolt on, (they are just wider for the vented rotor) at least it was on my 69, I upgraded to all vented rotors because of the cost of the solids, mostly the rears, sometimes you can pick up a nice used complete set cheap, thats what I did.

FYI I have a 68 912 and my rears are the same size and bolt pattern as my Ghias front. I used my Ghias until I rebuilt my 912s
