912 wheel size
Does any one know the maximum wheel width for the rear of a short wheel base 912?

I know 6x15 Fuchs fit because my girlfriend has 'em on her '66. I'm not sure of their offset... Hope this helps. Cheers!

I have 7x15s on the back (and front) of my '66 912. Judicious use of the usual 1/4-in spacers may be required. Tire size is critical; I use 205/50-15. Anything bigger will probably rub, either on the adjusting bolts on the trailing arm or on the fender.

Thank you very much, I appreciate your reply. I would have hated to buy wheels that didn't fit the car. Do you happen to know the back spacing or offset for these 7" wheels?

Sean:
Sorry, I can't read the offset on the spare. They are stock 7-in 911 Fuchs forged alloys, circa 1972. The rears have no spacers. The fronts have 1/4-in spacers, but your car may differ, as mine has S brakes. Frank |
