I received sad news today from the 912 Registry.

I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Dave personally, but countless times I'd Google some obscure or long-forgotten 912 "how-to" and that great site of his would usually pop-up with the answer. The Porsche community has certainly lost someone who went out of his way to help others, either hands-on or via his extensive documentation which must have involved countless hours of his time.
My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones and all who knew him personally. Bill. |

There is a lot more information about what happened and how we can remember Dave and his efforts on the 912bbs site (linked to above).
I also happened upon is site researching the 912 when I was about to buy one back in 2002. I learned a huge amount and decided there was enough information and parts to take the plunge. Dave has been a mentor both indirectly through his site and directly through email and messages over the years, and will miss him greatly. I'm so saddened that I will never have the chance to meet him in person. Cheers all, Jason

Still shocked by this
it's not right too young and so much to offer every one both young and old. I will miss Dave we met a number of times. Both here in London and in his home town San Jose.

This is sad. Dave must have been a treasure chest of helpful information and a blessing to all. I just met him a few hours ago by virtue of his site. I have been searching for a very hard to find kernel of information on setting up my carbs and he provided me with the answer I needed. So sorry I didn't get to see him in this life. There will be forever, in the next. I'll meet him there.
