Different Engine support bars?

I just want to check... I have a 1965 (I think) 912 that I picked up in boxes for cheap. Looking through all the parts, it looks like the engine support bar I have is a very thin, flat piece of metal with 2 tubes on the sides. Most of the pictures I've seen on these forums the bar looks like it's alot beefier boxed bar. Am I missing a part, or did Porsche infact upgrade this bar?

tks,
Evan

That is the correct engine mount for the early 912. It bolts to the rear (front from behind) and hangs from rubber mounts on both sides...Good luck Mark

Evan:
Here are examples of the earlier vs. later style. IIRC the 69 used 6 rubber mounts.

Evan:

My car, 451326, built in August 1965, still has its original flat, solid mount. I don't know exactly when the softer mount came in, possibly during 1966, but I understand that it was changed to make the cars quieter.
