How do I lower front and rear suspencion 68'912

Hi guys, anyone can help me with some technical advise on how to lower my 68's suspension?

The front's easy: just adjust out the torsion bar stop bolts under the front end - be sure to mark the bolts as to their original position, so you can always go back to where you started. Do it with the car jacked up and after every adjustment, you'll want to drive the car a little to let the suspension settle in.

The rear's a different story, as it requires removal of the spring plates and re-orienting them onto the splines of the torsion bars. What you're doing is changing the angles of the spring plates and it's pretty much a trial and error process. You'll want to have a repair manual handy, or search this site where there are some step-by-step instructions posted.

Here are a few good how-to's: Keep in mind, however, that the your rear suspension (probably) does not have the later model adjustable spring plates that some of the articles mention which increases the guesswork in getting correct settings. Also, be prepared to find worn rubber springplate bushings once you get in there.

An excellent article on this appears in PCA's Upfixin-der-Porsche book, probably the first volume, reprinting tech articles from Panorama. I remember using it to lower my 912 back in the early 1970s. There's a different number of splines on each end of the torsion bar, but using the above article, I could figure out exactly what to do--the first time.
