912 `69 Sound deadner on firewall

Hi all

I have a very original 912 from 1969, on which I just rebuild the engine.
I`m going to drive it a lot with the kids on the back seats, which leeds me
to this question:

I want to put some sound deadner on the firewall, to keep the noise in the
engine bay.
What is the best? It must look or be as original

Ole

You can buy the sound deadening foam-like pad from the various sources. Others have used a foam / metallic foil pad instead (doesn't crumble as bad).

If your engine is out, what I would suggest is something like Quietcar or some other roll-on sound dampening and then stick on the pad for looks (and added sound insulation).
