Engine #830509 -- Euro '65 912?
Hi, I'm not a 912 guy, but I'm helping a friend identify the engine in his car. It's sitting in a '68 chassis at the moment. It appears from the tables I've referenced that it's an early '65 engine.

Yes, it would appear to be an early one. Casting date would confirm that.
