OK I need new brake rotors for my 912 on front and back. The local P-Car Guru told me they are not the same as 911 rotors and also I have looked through a few catalogs and noticed different part numbers between 912 and 911 rotors as well.
911 Rotors seem to be quite reasonable compared to 912 rotors! I want to upgrade to some Frozen Rotors or maybe a cross-drilled setup. Is there anyway to make the 911 rotors fit? Or does anyone know where I could find some, "Performance Oriented." rotors? Thanks, Dustin

I went through a similar dilemma last year. Honestly, the 912 brakes are plenty good enough for the car. However, if you are like I am (I want the WOW factor) your best bet would be to find SC suspension to put in the car. There are plenty of cross drilled/vented/slotted rotors for the setup. I ended up getting a free set of Koni red 911S struts with the aluminum calipers and vented rotors. I plan to put the Frozen slotted rotors on the car and paint the calipers red. You could have regular 912 calipers cross-drilled, not sure about gas-slotting. While you are at it, upgrade to stainless steel lines, some better pads, maybe even a bigger master cylinder, etc.
By the way, my 912 is also silver and has a roll cage. Silver ones are the fastest. Efrain 68 912 Coupe |

yea Josh I read somewhere that German racers would run their cars without paint because it was lighter. Kinda like the old argument that white is lighter than black because of less pigments therefor faster

Yeah, the old 550 spyders and such were actually not painted. As Colin Chapman said, "for speed, add lightness."

Josh: You can find pictures of mine at the link below. My color is Polar Ssilver Metallic. It's a factory color on some 993s and Boxsters as well. But wasn't a factory color in 1969.

This was a clever move from Alfred Neugebauer ( Witch was a testdriver & race mechanic from Porsche since his time at Austro Daimler ). They scratched the white color of a Mercedes race car to pass the curb wight technical inspection. BTW just upgrade to 911 T or E with small calipers and ventet discs all corners including the 19mm MBC will do it. Grüsse |

I also have a '69, rear rotors as you know are expensive. To upgrade to other Porsche rear calipers/rotors which newer year model will fit?. Roland: You say E & T models? what year? Thanks.

They where standard on the 2,2 E even on 2,2 T Sportomatic. On the 2,4 only in combination with the S package and/or the Boge Niveaumat schocks. Grüsse |
