Question high beams are no beams

Last night I finally got my 912 running on pretty much four cylinders (I think one of the carbs has some issues)! I was working on aiming the headlights and taking periodic drives to test, when suddenly when I turned on the brights, both headlights turned off! I hadn't done anything previously but aim the headlights, so I am rather curious. The fuses were fine, but I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the high beam relay. Could it have gone bad? Or is something grounding out? Thanks for the help,

Blake

The high beam relay is located under the drivers side floorboards next to the one for the 4 way flashers. If you have a bad connection there or a faulty relay, this will cause the high beams to fail.
