dash light help

I am working on a 1967 912.
The wiring harness for the gauge lights have been melted and I’m in the process fixing it.

I have some questions about the warning lights.

The Speedo has a green indicator light in it.
The best I can figure out, it is supposed to come on when the parking lights are on, and then goes off once you turn the headlights on.

The Tach has a blue indicator light in it.
That should come on when you have the High beam head lights on.

The Temp gauge has 3 indicator lights.
Orange, green, white.
Best I can figure out one is for the hand brake, low oil pressure, low voltage.
But I don’t know what color is for what problem.

The Fuel gauge has a red indicator light
Is that supposed to come on when the tank is almost empty?

Anyone got any idea.

also right

On my '65 912 the white is for the handbrake the green for the oil and the orange for the low voltage.

The Fuel gauge has a red indicator lightyep this is the reserve/low fuel light, still have'nt got this working on my car though.

heres a wiring diagram, it's got the colours for the guages, hopefully the wires haven;t melted to much on your car

thanks so much.

Sadly the wiring for illumination had to be replaced.
But the warning light wires are still in good shape except for the marker light one in the speedo is melted through the insulation.

All of the sockets were pulled out of the gauges so I am having to figure out what holes to stick the bulbs back in by following the schematic. and the help of those who are familiar with this car.

I just wanted to make a follow up post in case anyone else reads this.

I misunderstood the schematic.

The wiring harness for the illumination of the gauges.
AND
the Positive wire for the warning lights was melted.

It almost looks like someone tried to merge them. Like Jeff Goldblum in "The Fly"

I was thrown off for a while, since everything was melted, and the color codes are similar.

I'm by no means a porsche expert, but I hope my learning curve may help someone else from getting a few extra gray hairs.
