1976 912
I'm thinking of buying a 76 912. Can you still find parts for the engines/tranny on these vehicles.

There are a couple of items that are truly unique to the car, but the vast majority of wear items are readily available from other models, like 911's and 914's. The exhaust, some of the fuel injection parts and the gearbox output shaft are the hard to find items that come to mind.

I love mine. I agree with the last message. Most of the car is a 911

1976 912E parts
I have one, finished a complete resto in 2009 - not a bit of trouble with parts.
Having said that I did not need to rebuild the tranny or engine. Many of the 1976 parts were still being used on the 1983 SC. ( hood shocks, door handles, shifter bushings etc, etc ) In fact most of the parts are available from our host, Rennlist, e-bay and a bunch of other sources. The 912E is a fun car, maintenance is easier, mileage is better and if set up correctly balances better than the 911. In fact my 912E handles far better than my 1983 SC. Power, now that is another story - good luck. |
