Wiring Problem

I have a bit of a problem with the wiring on a 1969 912.

The board in the engine bay is shown on the PET

http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/a...e/untitled.jpg

Item 9 is present on the board and has a Bosch part 0 333 611 004

The PET describes this as 'PART NUMBER UNKNOWN' and my OPC has the same information.

A similar looking part is also shown on a 911 Board as a DASHPOT Relay.

There is also a Round Black Relay fitted to the board but this is not shown.

The only 912 Wiring diagrams I have are for an early 912 and then 72 on 911s.

There are a couple of questions:

Does anyone have the correct Diagram?

What is a Dashpot Relay?

Help:( Please

I also have a 69 912 and the board in mine seems identical to yours. The round black relay goes in/on the hole that you can see at the lower left of your diagram.

I am not an expert but the item you describe is, I think, simply described as a relay on the Porsche parts diagram. Its part number is - again I think, not certain - 902 615 113 00.

Still with the non-expert disclaimer - a dashpot relay is as described by its name. It is a relay where the closing action is damped by a dashpot - a cylinder (usually) with oil in it and a piston that moves as the contacts close. Often used in an overload protection circuit.
