Hi guys. I have a california black plate car but only have one of the plates. I heard if you have the registration and one plate a company can build you a matching plate. Anyone ever hear of that or know where I could get one? Thanks....

Yes, I heard about it. Can't remember where, but I heard about it. I would contact the DMV.

Remanufactured plates are tecnically illegal....so the last place you wanna go is DMV.
Do a Google search and you should find a hit. I saw a thread on the subject once here on the 914 or 911 list, might try an archive search... BTW, you CAN buy a set of matching black plates from license plate dealers and then "transfer" them at DMV, but I prefer using the service at AAA. AAA seems to hire people with both brains and personalities..... ALSO, the Pomona Porsche Swap meet usually has plate dealers mixed in with the American parts sellers.... |

Check out:
http://www.euro-sign.com/stamped_metal_plates.htm I've never dealt w/them but have seen their ads in Hemmings for years. Note that they don't ship CA plates to anyone in CA, so time to pull in a favor from those distant friends. |
